Some celebrations look like foam and laser tag. Others look like this. A backyard. A fairytale on the screen. A mom and dad holding hands while their kids fall in love with the story.
We see them all.
Every weekend, all year long, our Freedom Fun teams set up in backyards, churches, parks, and school fields across the country. We roll out the mobile laser tag arenas. We fire up the foam cannons. We line up the hoverball targets and the archery tag bows. And then, we get the privilege of watching something far more beautiful than anything we set up.
We get to watch moms.

She is the one who arrived an hour before the guests. She is hauling a folding table, balancing a tray of cupcakes, and answering a text from her aunt about parking. She is wearing a "Birthday Boy's Mom" shirt and she has not stopped moving since 6 a.m.
Then the kids arrive, and something shifts.
She kneels down in the foam pit and lets her four year old pour bubbles over her head. She stands behind her seven year old, gently guiding her hand on the hoverball bow, whispering "you got this." She grabs a laser tag gun, joins her son's team, and runs harder than she has run all year, because nothing in the world matters more than the look on his face when she tags him out and yells "GOTCHA!"
She is not just hosting the party.
She is in the party.

Freedom Fun USA started in 2013 with a simple birthday party on the banks of the San Gabriel River in Georgetown, Texas. From that very first event, we noticed something we now see at every single celebration we run.
The mom is the keeper of the celebration.
Dads matter. Grandparents matter. Friends and siblings and aunts and uncles matter. But there is almost always one person who carries the weight of the day on her shoulders, and she carries it with a smile.
She is the one who remembered that one kid has a peanut allergy. She is the one who packed extra socks for the foam party. She is the one who notices the shy kid on the edge of the field and walks over to gently bring her in. She is the one who, when the cake gets dropped or the weather shifts or a child has a meltdown, takes a deep breath, smiles, and finds a way to make the moment magical anyway.
That is not party planning.
That is leadership. That is love. That is sacred work.
Most of the world will never see what we see. They see the photos at the end of the day. They see the smiling kids and the lit up arena and the foam covered backyard. They do not see the months of planning, the budget juggling, the late night invitation list, the careful thought given to every guest, every detail, every memory.
But we see it.
And we want every mom reading this to know something today.
The work you do is not invisible.
The love you pour out is not unseen.
The celebrations you create for your family are not small.
You are building memories your children will carry into their own homes one day. You are teaching them what it looks like to show up, to serve, and to make joy on purpose.

"Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her. Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all. Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Give her of the fruit of her hands, and let her works praise her in the gates."
Proverbs 31:28 to 31
People ask us all the time why Freedom Fun runs the way we do. Why we send a Party Coach instead of dropping off equipment. Why we offer free rescheduling, no questions asked. Why we bring on site supervision. Why we treat every birthday party like it matters.
The answer is simple.
We do it for her.
Because she has already done the heavy lifting before we even pull into the driveway. She has already planned, organized, decorated, invited, and emotionally prepared. The least we can do is take the rest off her plate so she can finally sit down, look around, and watch the people she loves having the time of their lives.
That is what we mean when we say we protect the celebration.
We protect her celebration too.

If you are reading this on Mother's Day, take a deep breath and let this land for a minute.
You are seen.
You are loved.
You are the reason the celebration happens.
And the next time you are in the foam pit, or chasing your kid through a laser tag field, or steadying tiny hands on an archery tag bow, please know that the Freedom Fun team is there for one reason and one reason only.
We are there to protect the celebration moment for you and for your family.
Happy Mother's Day.
