Virtual Reality FAQs
Please call or send us a message if you still have unanswered questions. We’re here to help you throughout the entire party-planning process.
- What games come loaded on the VR headsets?
Crowd favorites like Beat Saber, Job Simulator, Walkabout Mini Golf, Gorilla Tag, Rec Room, Ocean Rift, Nature Treks VR, Mission: ISS, Open Brush and Eleven Table Tennis are the games everyone asks for, and most of our headsets arrive with them ready to play. The exact lineup varies a little by location, so tell your Fun Sales Rep your must-haves when you book and we will confirm them. Teen and adult events can unlock titles like Vader Immortal, Population: One and Superhot VR. The full lineup, rated by age, is in our VR Game Guide at freedomfunusa.com/guides/vr-game-guide.
- Can you install a specific game for my event?
Almost always, yes. If it is on the Meta Quest store, we can usually have it ready for event day. Tell us the title when you reserve and give us about a week so we can load it and test it on your headsets.
- Is VR appropriate for my guests' ages?
Meta recommends ages 10 and up, and we host plenty of 8 and 9 year olds with a parent nearby. Every game in our guide carries one of four ratings: All Ages, Ages 10+, Teens+ and Mature. Tell us your crowd and we set the lineup to match, with mature titles locked out of rotation at kids' and family events. Our coaches also keep sessions short for younger players so nobody gets dizzy or overwhelmed.
- How many headsets do we need?
It depends on your crowd and how long each turn runs. For a birthday with a dozen kids, two headsets keep everyone playing with longer turns. For schools, festivals and large events, the Epic VR Zone runs four players at once and we scale each experience to under five minutes per station for fast turnaround, so hundreds of guests can play in an afternoon. Tell us your headcount and your event length and your Fun Sales Rep will size it for you.
- Can we set up outside, and what do you need from the venue?
Yes, under a covered area and out of direct sunlight. Sunlight through the lenses can permanently damage a headset in minutes, and bright light also confuses tracking, so shade is a must. Indoors is ideal. Each headset needs a clear 10 by 10 ft. play space and a standard outlet within 50 ft. for charging. For the Epic VR Zone, plan on a 20 by 20 ft. flat area plus power for the blower. Multiplayer games across headsets need an internet connection at the venue, so tell us if you want head-to-head play and we will plan for it.
- Can we bundle VR with laser tag or an outdoor movie?
That is our favorite kind of event. VR warms up the crowd, laser tag burns the energy, and an outdoor movie brings everyone back together. Popular combos include Galaxy Battle Night (Vader Immortal in VR, laser tag battles, a space movie under the stars), Game Day (VR sports, Nerf Wars, the big game on the big screen) and Fright Night for Halloween (spooky VR titles rated by scare level, glow laser tag, a Halloween movie). Bundle any two or more and save 10 percent. A 30 percent deposit holds your date, and free rescheduling means you never lose it.
Mobile VR Party Rentals in Austin
Forget the VR arcade. Freedom Fun brings Meta Quest virtual reality to your backyard, school gym, church hall or company picnic in Austin and the surrounding area. No driving across town, no paying per head, no sharing a headset with 200 strangers. Your guests show up, the headsets are charged and sanitized, and the games are already picked for your crowd.
Every VR rental includes Meta Quest headsets, a quick-start walkthrough and our VR Game Guide. Choose Drop-Off and we deliver, set up and pick up the next day. Choose DIY and pick up from our Austin store. Add a VR Pro host and a trained coach fits every guest, picks the right game and keeps turns moving so nobody waits.

How Mobile VR Works
Each headset needs a clear 10 by 10 ft. play space, a standard outlet within 50 ft. and shade. Indoors is ideal. Direct sunlight through the lenses can permanently damage a headset, so we set up under cover every time. VR for Every Kind of Austin Event
Austin birthday parties get a VR station that beats any arcade, with longer turns and a coach who keeps the energy up. See more birthday party ideas and packages.
Schools and churches book VR for STEM nights, field days, youth lock-ins and VBS. Space and science titles, ocean exploration and 3D art make it educational without feeling like homework, and our age filter keeps every title appropriate.
Corporate teams use VR for team building that gets people off their phones. Table tennis brackets, co-op puzzle games and head-to-head racing turn a company picnic into a story people retell on Monday. HOAs and festivals add the Epic VR Zone as the attraction everyone lines up for.
Bundle VR With Laser Tag or an Outdoor Movie
VR warms up the crowd, laser tag burns the energy, and an outdoor movie brings everyone back together. Pair VR with mobile laser tag or an outdoor movie screen and save 10 percent when you bundle.
